Becker's nevus

Becker's nevus is a cutaneous hamartoma, generally appearing in late childhood or adolescence.
It is manifested by a well demarcated hyperpigmented patch with darkly pigmented terminal hairs within or adjacent to the patch.

The lesion remains relatively stable for life.
There is no malignant potential for this lesion.
Differentiation from congenital melanocytic nevus is important.

Treatment:

  • No treatment is very effective although the Q-switched ruby laser can lighten areas of hyperpigmentation in this lesion. Reccurance of the pigmentation after laser is common
