Chancroid

Chancroid is an infection caused by Hemophilus ducreyi, characterized by a red papule which evolves into a pustule and then ulcerates. The skin
surrounding the ragged undermined edge is red and is often tender. The lesion can occur anywhere on the genitals.
Bilateral inguinal adenitis is common. The nodes can be tender and suppurate.

Treatment:

Azithromycin 1gm. as a single dose
Ciprofloxacin 500mg. b.i.d. for three days
Ceftriaxone 250mg. IM as a single dose
Erythromycin 500mg. q.i.d. for seven days
Thiamphenicol 5gr. as a single dose
