Collodion baby
Collodion baby is a clinical description for a collodion-like covering that can be present in newborns with various ichthyoses.
There is a high mortality, but if the child survives, the collodion surface peels off to reveal a more typical ichthyosis.
Treatment:
- Intensive neonatal care in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.
