Erythema induratum

Erythema induratum is an eruption of nodose skin lesions in a patient with tuberculosis.
These persistent or recurrent ill-defined nodules usually occur on the posterior calves of women with stigmata of impaired peripheral circulation.
Nodules can develop irregular, shallow ulcers, often with a violaceous edge.

Treatment:

  • Treatment of the systemic tuberculosis is required.
  • Because of the associated problems with impaired peripheral circulation, healing may be slow.
