Larva migrans

Synonym:

Creeping eruption

Cutaneous larva migrans is a cutaneous eruption caused by the intracutaneous wanderings of a larva, most commonly the cause of dog hookworm, Ancylostoma braziliense.
It is passed to humans through contact with infected soil. The larva migrates a few mm per day, leaving a pruritic serpentine red track.

Treatment:

  • Topical thiabendazole
  • Oral albendazole
  • Oral Ivermectin
  • Cryotherapy
