Lymphomatoid papulosis

Lymphomatoid papulosis is an eruption consisting of 3-6 mm red-brown papules, often with a scale, sometimes ulcerated, that show histology suggestive of lymphoma.
Indeed, some patients with lymphomatoid papulosis have clinically diagnostic lesions of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma elsewhere.
Of those that do not, a proportion of patients with lymphomatoid papulosis will manifest systemic lymphoma. The proportion of patients evolving to lymphoma may be as low as 10-15%.
Lesions typically appear in crops with slow regression over many months.

Treatment:

• Potent topical steroids may be of benefit. Intralesional steroids can help if the number of lesions are small.
• Anecdotal reports showing the usefulness of topical Tacrolimus ointment
