Macule (definition)
(mak'ul) (Latin. Macula - a spot)
A macule is a circumscribed flat area of skin, different in color or texture from its surrounding tissue.
A maculopapular rash consists of macules and papules.
A macule is less than 0.5 cm in diameter, with a patch being larger than that.
