Minoxidil
Topical minoxidil (RogaineŽ) is used in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, investigationally for alopecia areata.
Contraindications:
- Safety in pregnancy and in children has not been established.
Adverse effects:
- A burning feeling on topical application is common.
Dosage:
- One ml of a 2% solution is applied to scalp bid for 6 to 12 months before its effect will be known.
