Porokeratosis of Mibelli
Porokeratosis of Mibelli consists of annular lesions with a raised edge. The raised edge shows a characteristic furrow, which is pathognomonic.
This raised edge expands peripherally, with central clearing or, occasionally, with central scarring.
Porokeratosis of Mibelli may be autosomal dominant or sporadic.
Treatment:
- The 3-6 week application of 5% 5-fluorouracil cream to the advancing edge is usually effective. However, repeated 3 to 4 weeks courses of treatment may be required to remove the lesion.
- Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy of the edge is also effective therapy.
