Sebaceous carcinoma

Sebaceous carcinoma presents as a firm, usually yellowish, somewhat translucent nodule, most commonly on the face.
Histologically, there is a malignant tumor with sebaceous differentiation, although some contain additional features of basal cell carcinoma.
Metastases can occur.

Treatment:

• Surgical excision is the treatment of choice.
• Regular follow-up with regional lymph node assessment is recommended for at least 5 years.
