Vasculitis
Vasculitis is an inflammation of blood vessels.
Leukocytoclastic vasculitis , also known as Henoch-Schönlein purpura, shows considerable endothelial cell damage, neutrophil infiltration and red cell extravasation.
Vasculitis that can involve the skin includes, in addition to Henoch-Schönlein purpura, hypersensitivity angiitis, pyoderma gangrenosum, Sweet's syndrome, erythema nodosum, livedoid vasculitis, polyarteritis nodosa, malignant atrophic papulosis, as well as other inflammation of small and large vessels.
Treatment:
- Remove or treat cause
- Colchicine shows benefit in LCV
- Case reports of benefits from the use of Dapsone, systemic corticosteroids, and immunosuppressants
