Venous insufficiency
Venous insufficiency is manifested by various cutaneous findings, including stasis dermatitis, ectatic veins near the skin surface, and deeper varicose veins.
Lipodermatosclerosis, or progressive skin fibrosis, is common over the varicose veins and around the ankles.
Treatment:
- Elastic stockings used properly may slow the progression of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities.
