Many patients develop upper lip wrinkles as a sign of normal aging. This happens much quicker in patients who smoke or have smoked for a period of their life.

Treatment Options

There are a number of different treatment options for upper lip wrinkling.

One of the easiest to do is to get on an optimized anti-aging skin care regimen recommended to you by the cosmetic dermatologist.

For many patients though, this will not be enough and they'll need something a little bit more aggressive to address their complaints. Soft tissue filler is a great option for a lot of patients because it can help to smooth out the wrinkles and restore volume that used to be present in the upper lip, but was lost over time with aging.

For some patients, we also combine and add a small dose of botulinum; you've probably heard of Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport. These are all brand names of botulinum that can be injected to soften upper lip wrinkles, and they actually work best when combined with soft tissue filler.
