Angiolymphoid hyperplasia
Synonym:
Kimura's disease
Angiolymphoid hyperplasia is an acquired eruption, most common on the head and neck, of a spectrum of small, red, rather translucent papules to larger, ill-defined, violaceous subcutaneous nodules.
A peripheral eosinophilia may be present.
Treatment:
- Spontaneous regression is common within a year.
- Solitary lesions can be excised.
- Radiation therapy is also effective, but is reserved for lesions causing a significant functional or cosmetic defect.
