Café-au-lait macule

Café-au-lait macule is a well demarcated light to dark brown patch present from early childhood.
In a school-aged population, approximately 25% of children will have a café-au-lait macule.
Multiple café-au-lait macules are uncommon and more than six is strongly suggestive of neurofibromatosis.
Café-au-lait macules can also occur in association with Albright's syndrome, tuberous sclerosis and other genodermatoses.
